NOSSA SENHORA DO ROSÁRIO and SANTA EFIGÊNIA
The celebration to the slaves protectors Nossa Senhora do Rosário and Saint Efigênia since the Colonial Times of Brazil. Many Congados’s processions groups from other cities hold the essency of africans counMozambique, Marujos, Caboclos, Catopés from many regions of the state.

HOLY WEEK
The holy week stands out, from April, when the town has already recovered from the traditional carnival feast and transformed into a stage of unwavering faith.
Holy Week, the Christian celebration commemorating the Passion of Jesus Christ, takes place between Palm Sunday and Easter. To receive the processions, the streets are covered with colored sand and decorated with flowers.

This year from 5 to 11th April.
The Palm procession (Praça Tiradentes) will take place on the Sunday Afternoon before Passion Friday (Igreja São Francisco de Assis ou Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário) at 8 p.m. Easter procession (Praça Tiradentes) on Sunday at 7am and the night before you can help the faithful people to prepare the processions carpet. It starts at 10 p.m.
